What Does $1.5 Million vs. $2 Million Buy You in Bend?
The difference can be astounding.
At $1.5 million in Bend, you can still find homes with things you may want to change. Maybe it's the flooring. Maybe someone made a few questionable design choices. Maybe the kitchen or bathrooms aren't quite what you'd expect at that price.
And sometimes $1.5 million simply buys you a nicer home in the same neighborhood where you might find another home for $1.2 million.
At around $2 million, something different can happen. You may start seeing properties that feel more like estates, with substantial homes, larger lots and higher-end finishes. Or that $2 million may buy you a very nice home in one of Bend's most desirable established areas, where the homes themselves can actually be considerably older.
In other words, the extra money doesn't always buy the same thing.
Does $2 million automatically buy you a Cascade Mountain view? No. That still depends very much on location.
If both price points are comfortably within your budget, it can be useful to understand what the difference actually buys you. Then you can decide whether those differences matter enough to you to justify the additional cost.
